Augmented Reality Islands

Consultancy project with the Cook Islands Climate Change Office as part of the Global Climate Fund to produce Digital maps of each of the Cook Islands as Climate change Digital readiness tools. 

Made using Unity and Blender technology, and utilising newly acquired, embargoed LiDar data of the Cook Islands each map can travel to climate negotiations and conferences anywhere in the world, is sharable and will last online free from the immediate threats of climate change and weather events in the Cook Islands. 

1) There is an Augmented Reality Map for visualisation and communications built as a stand alone app in Unity.  The youtube video here shows early testing of this map build.

2) There is a directory of all 15 of the Cook Islands that have been digitally mapped with points of interest plotted to show areas of high risk that can have digital LiDar mapping imagery overlaid to confirm or highlight risk areas. In 2024, these maps were enhanced to also include results from the recently completed Vunerability & Adaptation reports done for each of the Cook Islands.
